jlgMUN is a young and growing Model United Nations conference, hosted by the John-Lennon-Gymnasium in Berlin. With a focus on global citizenship, inclusive dialogue, and forward-thinking diplomacy, our goal is to empower students to engage critically with international challenges — and to do so through collaboration, not confrontation.
Theme: The Influence of Colonialism on Contemporary Society
In our inaugural conference, delegates from both local and international schools came together to examine the long-lasting effects of colonialism on today’s political, economic, and social systems. Committees discussed topics such as reparations, structural inequality, and decolonizing global governance. The event included guest speakers, expert panels, and was held in partnership with the Foreign Office and Nordic Embassies.
As we continue to grow, each jlgMUN conference will build on the last — deepening the debates, widening the perspectives, and expanding the space for youth-led diplomacy.
We look forward to what’s next.
